The Vibecoded Product Launch Playbook: From Beta to First 100 Customers

So you’ve vibecoded something real. It works. You’ve tested it, refined it, and quietly convinced yourself it’s good. Now what? This is where a lot of vibecoded products get stuck. The build was fast. The launch is slow. And ‘slow launch’ often becomes ‘no launch’ when the founder is also the marketer, the support team, and the accountant.

Phase 0: Before You Announce Anything

  • Your onboarding must work. The first 10 minutes a new user spends with your product is the whole game. Vibecode your onboarding flow before you vibecode your marketing site.
  • You need to be able to receive payment, or at least the intent of it. Even in beta, have a waitlist form, a Stripe payment link, or a Calendly booking.
  • You need a way to talk to users. An email sequence, a Slack channel, a WhatsApp group. Early users want access to you, not a help centre.

Phase 1: The Beta Launch (Weeks 1–4)

Find your beta users personally

Not through ads. Not through a product hunt launch. Personally. Message 20 people in your network who have the problem your product solves. Offer them free access in exchange for honest feedback and a conversation. This is faster, richer, and more useful than public beta launches.

Make feedback collection embarrassingly easy

A one-question weekly email: ‘What’s the one thing that most frustrates you about [product] this week?’ That’s it. The data from three weeks of those answers is worth more than any analytics dashboard at this stage.

Document your beta publicly

LinkedIn posts about what you’re building, what broke, and what you fixed. This builds an audience of people who are on the journey with you, and creates a proof-of-iteration trail that helps with trust when you go commercial.

Phase 2: The Soft Launch (Weeks 4–8)

Move from free to paid with your best beta users first

Before you price publicly, offer your most engaged beta users a founder rate. Tell them they get this price forever if they convert now. This creates urgency, rewards loyalty, and gives you your first real commercial validation. Two paying customers are worth more psychologically and strategically than 200 free users.

Write the case study before you launch

Take one beta user result and write it up. Real numbers, real situation, real outcome. Even a small result (‘saved us 3 hours a week’) is publishable. This becomes the anchor of your launch content and the thing you share in every sales conversation.

Build your content engine

You need to be producing content about the problem your product solves and not just the features of the product. Educational content takes 6–12 weeks to start working. Start it during your soft launch so it’s gaining traction when you go commercial.

Phase 3: The Commercial Launch

The launch isn’t an event, it’s a week

Give yourself seven days of concentrated launch activity: a LinkedIn announcement on day one, a case study post on day three, a ‘lessons from beta’ piece on day five, and a direct outreach push to your warm network on day seven.

Use your beta users as your launch team

Ask your best beta users to comment on your launch post, share it, or write a short testimonial you can screenshot. Social proof from real people your target audience might know is more powerful than any ad spend.

The first 100 customers formula

From observation and experience, the first 100 customers of a bootstrapped vibecoded product come from roughly: 40% direct network, 35% content-driven inbound, 15% word of mouth from existing customers, and 10% everything else.

What Not to Do

  • Don’t wait until it’s perfect. It will never be perfect. Ship it when it’s good.
  • Don’t launch on Product Hunt as your primary strategy unless you’re building a developer tool.
  • Don’t run paid ads before you’ve validated organic conversion. If the free traffic isn’t converting, money won’t fix it.
  • Don’t stop talking to users once you have a few. Keep the user conversations going.
